Scores on the doors!

Hi Everyone,

We've finally finished this year's BCT survey work and a big thank you to everyone who took part.  I hope you've all had some fun and are not still reeling from the late nights and midge bites!

So here are the total counts for this year.  If you want more detail about weather conditions and stuff like that or want to compare with previous years, email separately and I'll give you access to the on-line data.

Cwm Rheidol Soparno Pipistrelle Roost.
11/06/2013 - 746
19/06/2013 - 799!!!!!
03/07/2013 - 28
18/07/2013 - 27

So where did they all go then?  Answers on a postcard please.

Comin Coch Brown Long Eared Roost.
05/06/2013 - 32
17/06/2013 - 34
08/07/2013 - 31
23/07/2013 - 36!

I had great fun last night with them.  I was on my own in the garden and seemed to work as some kind of beacon for them to come a fly around!  At one point I had two BLE and two Pips dive bombing me.  I did have a rather large swarm of flying insects above me at that point so it wasn't me they want at all really!

Llanrhystud Natterer's

You've guessed it,  a nil score here.   It's time now to let this one go I think.  It's such a pity since there were over 98 bats there in 2006!  There was a distinct crash from 64 bats in 2010 to only 4 bats in 2011.  So what's changed there then we must ask?

I hope to try to get a social event together in the not too distant future so keep you eyes on the blog.

Thanks again for all you hard work.
