Just a quick update

Hi all,

Just to let you know how things are going and to let you know that we will try Panterhogfaen tonight! (Wed)

Despite the weather we've managed to do the pip count and the long eared and had reasonable number each time. We counted 26 long eared bats out, which is about average - so no problems there and at Cwm Rheidol on Monday we had 369, (a bit low for there) and two great sighting of serotine/noctule bats (I think the judge is still out on that).  We also had some fun with a camera and a set of antennae!

Just for interest, all our hard won survey results are put together to form the National Bat Monitoring Programme Annual Report which can be found on the BCT web site.

Hope to see some, if not all of you over the summer - the next two weeks are busy too and will give those who missed the first round of surveys a chance to get out and bitten to death! (I've now got so little hats for you all to wear).  There will also be a couple of field surveys to complete in July and perhaps some return visits to the others.
